How escrow protects your apartment hunt
Upfront payments to unknown agents are a classic risk when hunting for an apartment. That is why Kiezfinder works with an escrow model: the finder fee stays secure until the match is successfully completed.
How it works
- You commission a finder and deposit the agreed fee.
- The finder searches — and you see every step in the search order.
- After a successful lease, the amount is released.
- You have a 3-day right of objection after the match closes.
What happens in a dispute
If the apartment does not materialise or the tip is not as promised, the deposited amount is refunded. The money never goes directly to the finder — it is only released after a successful match.
In short: you only pay once you hold the keys to your new apartment — and even then only the capped finder fee.
